Practitioners who incorporate chakra-based concepts may guide clients to bring awareness to sensations in the chest area through breathwork, movement, visualization, mindfulness, or body-based emotional processing techniques.
The heart chakra is often associated with the ability to safely experience and express emotions, develop self-compassion, and heal relational wounds. While somatic therapy itself is grounded in nervous system regulation and body awareness, some holistic or integrative practitioners blend heart chakra concepts into sessions as a way to support emotional release, grounding, and a deeper sense of connection between the mind and body.
In Somatic Singing, we take those emotional experiences and release them from our bodies using the voice as an energy channel. We do this for two main reasons:
to give your emotions the space to be expressed fully so that healing can commence.
to give you the skills to be able to release emotions in future before the mind and body store them as trauma or trigger responses.
When used as a vocal training technique, singing from the heart chakra fosters a genuine connection with your audience and your own inner landscape, as you learn to express musically from a place of love and emotional depth...
