TRANSGENDER VOCAL TRAINING

Transform Your Voice

Do you feel shy or nervous when expressing yourself in your true identity? Guess what ~ you are not alone.
Many transpeople feel anxiety around vocal expression. Especially because mainstream society puts so much pressure on us to only express our birth gender, vocally and otherwise. This often quiets the inner voice that screams "that's not me!"  But guess what? That is you. And she/he/they deserve to be heard!
Embrace your identity and develop your dream voice with our Transgender Vocal Training Program

Transgender Vocal Training

Transform and Express Your Vocal Identity
with vocal coach and spirit guide, Justine Lucas

Welcome to our Vocal Rehabilitation and Voice Recovery Program, where we specialize in helping you freely express your gender using the less developed part of your natural vocal range. You deserve to feel good in your voice, heal any vocal pain you've been experiencing, and finally be free from any energetic burdens that may be holding you back from accessing your self-expression power source.

Maybe you're grappling with raspy textures as your vocal range lowers from testosterone. Maybe you're experiencing vocal pain from trying to speak higher while on estrogen. Or maybe you're just feeling self-conscious while singing, speaking, or presenting at work. Whatever it is, I got you.

My Transgender Vocal Training program is tailored to support you in your voice journey to full self-discovery. Let's help you find and embody the voice that feels most like you!

About The Program:

Vocal Training Sessions

We'll connect once for your Initial Consultation of 90 minutes, and then once every week or two for a 45-minute Training Session. I recommend weekly sessions for 4 months, though some clients prefer a longer period of support.

  • Initial Consultation (90 minutes)

In your initial consultation, we'll talk about your experience with your voice, identify your current vocal comfort range, and you'll create voice goals.
  • Training Sessions (45 minutes each)

In each training session, we'll practice different vocal techniques and breathing exercises to help you develop your dream voice, strengthen your breath support, and expand your vocal range healthfully.
  • Breath Support ~ we'll use breathing exercises to strengthen your diaphragm and give your voice the support it needs.
  • Vocal Exercises ~ we'll use custom vocal warm ups to help you expand your vocal range into other areas of your voice.
  • Meditation ~ we'll use guided meditations to help you release any anxiety, trauma, or fear blocking your throat chakra.
  • Safe space ~ all online sessions are offered with camera on or off, for maximum comfort and ease.

Let's get to know each other...

My Identity

I navigate my identity like a fluid dance. I embrace a somewhat gender-fluid existence, depending on how others see my gender, though I myself to not identify with any one gender, or even gender in general. I like expressing myself through music, theater characters, and artist personas in what looks to others like a myriad of genders, but to me just feels like: energies. I celebrate the spectrum of expression that comes with being an artist and performer, and gender to me is just another role. For some of us, we choose to play the role we were given at birth, perhaps without question. And some of us feel that we have been cast in the wrong role, and that another destiny calls to us. I believe that only the player should be the one to decide upon their role of destiny.
Labels often feel constricting when placed on me, but can be freeing when self-proclaimed. One label I do associate with is pansexual, as my attraction transcends traditional binary boundaries, drawing me to the essence of a person rather than their gender. However, I feel that love in and of itself is free from labels entirely. It is more like a nebula, or a liquid… not to be contained or compressed, but rather exponentially expressed.
For me, identity isn't a fixed point, but a vibrant tapestry, woven from experiences and connections that defy convention, inviting me to explore and redefine what it means to truly be myself each and every day.
Let's get to know each other...

My Tree pronouns

At times, I prefer the pronouns of something completely neutral in nature, as I often feel more connected with the healing vibration of plant life, rather than the overstimulating busy-body capitalist consumerist vibrations of human existence.
For this reason, my preferred pronouns are tree/trunk, which my close friends honor and use correctly. Here's what it looks like in a sentence: "Justine likes slow mornings ~ tree likes to sip trunk's tea, look out the window, and journal about trunk's thoughts until tree has cleared trunk's mind."
As somewhat of a gender anarchist, I believe that gender doesn’t define a person, and is merely an imposed construct and a way of boxing people in. My birth gender has only ever caused oppression, unfair expectations, emotional pain, judgement, and fear in my life. I prefer to exist without it. Or at the very least, redefine what it means for me.
RuPaul said it best: "We're born naked, and the rest is drag." ~ RuPaul
So if you want to be a tree, be a tree!

Label Poem

I identify as an artist. As a healer. As a person. As a partner.
I identify as an ocean singer. A tree hugger. An earth listener.
A good friend. A silly sibling. An extrovert child. An introvert adult.
A high-sensitive asthmatic with auto-immune issues who still wants to sing, despite having to breathe twice as hard, with the kind of asthma that doctors say:
    "will never go away".
A dancer with naturally torqued bones. With a skeleton for ballet, a body for performance art, and a long history of knee injuries that doctors say:
    "were bound to happen".
A songwriter. A poet. A playwright. A novelist. A blogger. A journalist.
An avid notetaker with a storage unit full of journals from 25 years of writing.
An actor, or actress, or actey... depending on the day.
I identify as a vortex of gender fluid, non-binary, multi-binary, gender anarchy.
I identify as pansexual. But I mostly, I identify as: in-love.
I am love. I am love. I am love!
People call me "her" and "she"
  It mostly doesn't bother me...
But I feel more like "they" or "thee"
  With an air of royalty
And even more so, like a tree!
  Some call it gender anarchy.
But I just call it: being me.
I just call it being me :)
